In the winter of 2005-06, hundreds of oldgrowth trees were cut in Nanning Creek. Each tree took around 45 min. to and hour or more to cut, because of their enormous size. The sound of the trees hitting the ground was deafening, and often the impact could be felt through the ground over 100 yards away. These trees were 5-15 ft. in diameter, and between 500 and 2000 years old. They are irreplaceable, and they are our heritage...our history. And they are allmost gone. Less than 2% of original oldgrowth Redwood forests remain! The Trees Need Your Help!

More people are needed to sit in these and other trees, and to help support the non-violent direct action going on in this truly magical forest. Also, supplies and donations of money are desperately needed to help protect this forest. Please call to get involved or to donate to the cause. 707-834-9561
