Benedetta Ippolita Pignataro is an Italian painter and sculptor from Tuscany, living in Montreal, Canada, since 1981. She learned painting at the School of Fine Arts in Rome and started her travel around the world in 1957. She always had a passion for trees, since she discovered her grand-father planted a pine tree forest in Montalcino (Siena). All her paintings and sculptures represent trees. She considers her long career as a painter and a sculptor is just at the beginning.
In ``Tramonto``, she reproduces a sunset, the colourful sky and the forest reflections on the river. This is the never ending marriage of the four elements : the air (sky), the water (river), the earth (forest) and the fire (sun).
